Have your say in the development of the Innisfil Community Improvement Plan!

Hav your say in the development of Innisfil's Community Improvement Plan aimed to incentive business growth and develop the creation of complete communities.

The Town of Innisfil is developing a new Community Improvement Plan (CIP) to encourage high-quality commercial and industrial projects and support the creation of complete communities. A CIP is a tool which allows municipalities in Ontario to offer a suite of targeted financial incentives to offset costs related to the development of new buildings, business expansions and community revitalization projects. This CIP will introduce targeted financial incentives that align with Innisfil’s Economic Development Strategic Plan. These programs are designed to attract higher-value investment and support businesses.

Community input is essential as we create tools that will guide development in priority growth areas.

Upcoming Engagement Opportunities

A draft Community Improvement Plan (CIP) and Community Improvement Project Area (CIPA) are available for your review on the project page. Please read these and provide feedback on the proposed plan through:

  • CIP Validation Survey: Complete by Friday, May 8, 2026, to have your say and help shape the future of Innisfil.
  • CIP Public Meeting: A Public Meeting under Section 28 of the Planning Act will be held to consider the CIP and CIPA. The purpose of the Public Meeting is to provide the public with an opportunity to understand and comment on the proposed CIP and CIPA, which relate to all lands located within the Town of Innisfil.
    • Date: Wednesday, May 13, 2026
    • Time: Starting at 6:30 p.m.
    • Location: Attend in person at Innisfil Town Hall, Council Chambers, or stream online on our YouTube channel

For a summary of the key aspects of the draft CIP, refer to our self-guided information presentation located on the project page.  This is an opportunity for landowners, businesses, and residents to help shape a CIP that supports local job creation and economic prosperity for the whole community.

Help us welcome DSV – Global Transport and Logistics to the Innisfil business community

Members of our team and Innisfil Council had the opportunity to attend DSV’s grand opening event in April to celebrate the opening of their new Innisfil location!

If you’ve driven Highway 400 over the past year, you’ve definitely seen this massive facility taking shape near Innisfil Beach Road. The 1.3-million-square-foot facility is a multiclient logistics hub and this Innisfil facility is the largest of the company’s 22 in Canada. We’re excited to welcome this employer to the Innisfil Heights Employment Area and the Innisfil business community.

Thanks for attending the Mayor’s Business Breakfast

The event brought together more than 120 local entrepreneurs, business leaders, and community partners to celebrate the momentum of Innisfil’s economy, share insights, and recognize the businesses driving growth, innovation, and community impact across the town.

Resources in Response to U.S. Tariff Concerns

The Town of Innisfil is actively engaged in discussions with a number of partners regarding the impending tariffs. In particular, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, is leading the charge on behalf of Canadian municipalities as it pertains to a number of tariff related impacts, which may include, but are not limited to municipal law enforcement, import and export of goods and services, impacts to municipal procurement and infrastructure projects, and potential impacts on small and medium sized enterprises (SME’s). Mayor Dollin, Council, and Economic Development staff are participating in these conversations and sharing the feedback of local business stakeholders.

In the meantime, the County of Simcoe Economic Development Office has created a dedicated webpage with comprehensive Tariff Resources to help businesses navigate potential changes. Also found on the site is a short tariff impact assessment created in collaboration with the Western Ontario Wardens Caucus.
